A Message From Dumpling Woodsey
Hello friends, family, and cool cats! This summer I have the awesome privilege to volunteer with Uni Camp at UCLA. Uni Camp is a non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire youth from urban communities to envision a brighter future by sending them to summer camp where they have the chance to lead, learn, play, and get away from the urban life and become closer to nature. These summer camps are run by hundreds of student volunteers and are meant to foster an environment in which the kids are given the tools to dream big and succeed, no matter who they are or what their background is. This program is something very dear to my heart because I believe that every child should be allowed the equal opportunity to dream bigger and think of success despite whatever socioeconomic and political disparities they may face. Childhood is a wonderful time that should be spent being a child and having fun and growing. Unfortunately, this may not be the case for many of the children that we work with. In order for this program to run, however, all student volunteers pay for a majority of the costs for the children to attend.Any amount is GREATLY appreciated, no matter how much it is! Thank you so much ♥

UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
