A Message From Kaela "Kiki" Lavin
Hi friends and family! It's nice to see you here!
This year, I am a Session Program Director for Session One with UCLA UniCamp – the official nonprofit of UCLA students. This organization takes over 1,200 youth (ages 9-17) from underserved communities in the Los Angeles area to experience a week of subsidized summer camp in the San Bernardino Mountains. Through nature and fun camp activities, the campers learn about themselves, challenge themselves, find what inspires them, build confidence, and develop strong leadership skills.
As a Session Program Director, I am directly in charge of training 60 volunteers to take care of our future campers, leading a Leadership team, and programming a week of camp for 150 campers from the UCLA Community School. My session’s mission focuses on community engagement, intersectional identities, everyday leadership, and place-based learning!
My goal is to fundraise $500 to help some kiddos experience the beauty of UniCamp and decrease the financial burden on their families, and I would really appreciate some help! All donations directly made to my GivEffect link are tax-deductible, and you can also Venmo @kaelalavin.
I love this organization and the impact it has on volunteers and campers. I am so, so excited that I get the chance to lead 60 lovely volunteers and get the opportunity to make an impact on 150 camper’s lives. Thank you for any and all support. Any kindness and support is greatly appreciated!
Much Woodsey Love,
Kiki
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
