A Message From Manuel Ramirez
Hi there! This year, I am one of the session program directors for UCLA’s UniCamp and I will be training volunteers in preparation to become counselors to the underserved youth of Los Angeles at a week-long camp this upcoming summer.
My session’s mission is to highlight the importance of empathy, especially during these trying times that have proven most difficult for those affected by racism and discrimination.
Part of my responsibility is to raise $450.00 to support the cost of sending a child to camp. This summer, we held a virtual camp and the kids had a blast. With the pandemic hopefully over, imagine how excited these future campers will be to finally go outside this summer! However, in order to make this summer a reality, this is where I need your help. I am asking for your support, at whatever amount you feel comfortable, to help me reach my goal and to give a child the opportunity to experience what may be their first-ever experience of going to camp!
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
