A Message From Teresa Pham
HelloOoOoOo, friends and family! If you have found yourselves on this page, I just want to start off by saying that I'm very thankful and blessed to have you in my life. I'm just grateful to even spark your interest in supporting my endeavors, and this cause is an important one and close to my heart. You see, UniCamp is one of those things I looked into before I even came to UCLA. The more I heard about it, the more I fell in love with the cause and to have that cause be specifically centered around mental health; the reason I chose psychobiology as a major, the reason I endure through grueling hours of studying, and what I feel is my main purpose in life to overcome? This cause is the first hands-on work I'd get to do regarding what I'm passionate about. Why am I passionate about mental health, you ask? It comes down to the mind, body, and spirit. The mind is nurtured through education, intelligence, new experiences. The body comes down to physicalities. But the spirit is so much harder to put into words. There are so many medications that can be applied to many different people to treat physical pain. But what it takes to nurture the spirit is specific to each person. To play any role in helping people find their meaning and pursue their happiness is what I want in life. I feel this is the first time I've been offered any real opportunity at bringing this goal into fruition. As CHEESY* as it sounds, please consider giving whatever you can to make my dreams a reality, so I can go on to make other people's dreams reality.
*P.S. My favorite's gouda!
Also, please take a moment to analyze the picture I chose, it's very symbolic, I'm very deep like that, y'know: Imagine that I am holding your hand. With your donation, I am now taking you along for the ride that YOU helped fund! And I'm not just talking about UniCamp, I'm talking about what this may be setting off in the long run. OooOoooh. AaaAaaAaah. Symbolism. I also really like this picture, creds to you, Joan Phan.
Did you know that 1 in 3 college freshman leave after their first year of college? Did you know that 54% of these freshmen drop out due to stress? UCLA Unicamp will host a week of camp, in partnership with Project GRAD, that focuses on preparing high school students for college and promoting academic and social preparedness. This session will strive to teach our campers the importance of maintaining mental and emotional well being needed to be successful in an intensive university environment. This week will emphasize training campers on a number of social and emotional skills that will not only prepare them for college, but also allow them to be successful in their collegiate endeavors.

In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles.
