A Message From Joan Potato Phan
Hi, I'm Joan aka Potato, and I believe every kid deserves to go to camp. There's something magical about a summer camp experience. Each and every camp in the world is different and brings its own traditions and history into its character and identity. Every year, UniCamp makes the dreams of kids from low-income families come true by sending them to a outdoor residential summer camp. Campers and students learn that they can reach their full potential, often beyond what they thought possible, and to make a positive impact in their community. To achieve this result, we emphasize building relationships, leadership and character development, and just plain fun.
With our session, Mental Health, we strive to prepare high school students the importance of maintaining a mental and emotional well being throughout college. This week will emphasize training campers on a number of social and emotional skills that will not only prepare them for college, but also allow them to be successful in their collegiate endeavors.

In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
