The Fundraising Page of Chris Starlord Han

Hi everyone! So you're probably having a few questions in your head right now like...Who's Starlord??? Deserving Youth? Camp? Help?!?! No worries. That'll all be answered right now. First, my name is actually Chris Han, and I am a volunteer for UCLA Unicamp! What is this UniCamp you speak of and what do we do?!! UniCamp is UCLA's official student charity, and we help take underserved kids from low-income families up to camp for a week in the summer. The specific program I am doing is AcademiCamp, which focuses on maintaining and improving literacy rates. The students go to summer school for four weeks, and then the fifth week they go to camp. We try to integrate the things they learned to the classic summer camp experience, so that they hopefully have some fun and growth, while appreciating what they learned at the same time! This summer, I have the pleasure of being a counselor for the big young boys, ages 10-12ish, and I can't wait :). Why do we need the money you ask??? Because many of these campers come from low-income families, as student volunteers, we fundraise to help subsidize the cost of camp for them. #Doitfortheyouth Wait, but what's the reason YOU do UniCamp, Chris (Starlord)?! As a child, I attended summer camp myself a few times. Looking back, I realize how much fun I had, how much I learned, how much I grew, and simply how much joy I felt in just a week. The volunteers at the camp truly created some of the best experiences I had as a child. So, instead of being on the receiving side, I want to be the one giving back this time :). I am so blessed to be where I am at today. I can only thank God for the amazing, compassionate people God has put in my life. There are so many young people in this world who deserve so much more, and something needs to be done. I know this is only one small act, but sometimes we don't realize how big a small act can truly be to others. Donation INCENTIVES?!!?! Write you a poem: 10$!!!!
