A Message From Silvia Meza
Hello, my name is Silvia Meza. This year, I've been involved in an exciting student organization called UCLA UniCamp. As a volunteer, I'm training over 100 hours during the Spring Quarter with other like-minded students in preparation to become counselors to the underserved youth of Los Angeles at a week-long camp this upcoming summer. My week of camp is called AcademiCamp which aims to bridge the gap caused by summer learning loss. In partnership with the UCLA Community School and the Summer Learning Institute, we will provide summer school classes and one-on-one mentorship, culminating in a resident summer camp experience to give students the opportunity to enrich themselves year-round. Part of my responsibility is to raise $500.00 to support the cost of sending a child to camp. This is where I need your help. I am asking your support, at whatever amount you feel comfortable, to help me reach my goal and to give a child the opportunity to experience what may be their first-ever experience of going to camp.
Thank you for your support!
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
