A Message From Yesica Equihua

Hello everyone! This year I have begun training to be a UniCamp counselor over the summer. This program has allowed me to share my greatest fears and life experiences with an amazing group of people that always help bring out the best in me. UniCamp helps serve children from underserved communities, those who may not often have the resources or role models to look up to. My session specifically, is a week of summer fun for children who are grieving the loss of a parent or a loved one. Through healing circles and lots of outdoor activities, we aim to allow children to feel connected to those with similar experiences. Many have had to mature and take on responsibilities early in their lifetimes but YOU could help me give them the opportunity to be KIDS again! Each counselor is expected to fundraise $450 in order to subsidize the cost of camp for our campers and I need YOUR help to make that possible. Thank you in advance! 💕✨

UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
