A Message From Childhood Grief Support
It has been shown that the best way for a grieving child to heal is to be in a loving community surrounded by those who also shared a loss. UCLA UniCamp's UniZone session provides campers with a safe space where they can grieve, heal, and be among peers with similar experiences and understanding counselors serving as mentors. Since grief is an ongoing struggle, we will teach campers coping skills that they can use for their entire life. Despite the nature of the initiative, the purpose of this session is like any other, to give the campers a chance to be a kid and have fun!
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
