A Message From Doge Woodsey
I decided to join UniCamp this year because I strongly believe in UniCamp's mission to change children's outlook in life. Children all over LA are struggling daily both at home and at school, and UniCamp aims to improve their lives by offering them a week at camp for free. This summer, I will be volunteering as a counselor and contributing back to the community. I want to give kids from UCLA's Horace Mann Community School an experience of a lifetime at camp. It is amazing how one week of outdoor education can make all the difference in the world.
UniCamp is a nonprofit organization that partners with schools across the LA community. The session I am involved in focuses on social justice education, learning that emphasizes the students' cultural and social backgrounds to develop a sense of pride and self-confidence in their potential.
With your donation, we will be able to send kids to camp for free. They would never have had this opportunity without your generosity. Thank you so much for your support!
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
