A Message From Sheila (Tonks) Wahezi
UniCamp is a UCLA non profit organization that creates the opportunity for children in under served communities to have an amazing summer camp experience, and has been by far the best decision of my life.
UniCamp has not only allowed me to mentor a group of enthusiastic and fun-loving kids, but has allowed me to find my place at UCLA. All of our volunteers are incredibly motivated and create an open environment full of learning and a place to be yourself. I came into camp wanting to help give my campers the best summer of their lives, and left having learned so much from them, and so inspired and motivated to participate again this year!
This year, I am participating in the Older Camper Program and am in training to be a mentor for Core Lessons in Mind and Body (CLIMB). I am pledging to fundraise $1,800 to send my kids up to camp, where they will learn teamwork, leadership, and how to better themselves and the community around them.
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
