A Message From CLIMB 2016
C.L.I.M.B., Core Lessons in Mind and Body, is a program geared towards high-school aged teens. During this exciting week, campers will have the opportunity to safely push their mental and physical limits through lessons built around the 5 pillars of rock climbing. Not only will they get to climb, but campers will also have the opportunity to learn new skills such as belaying, where they literally take control of the ropes and have the responsibility of guiding the climber safely up and down a route. The beauty of this program is that all learning and application of the hard skills are done in a safe, controlled environment with multiple safety redundancies built in. This allows campers the sense of security to freely learn and explore, without putting anyone at risk. These five principles of rock climbing (climbing, belaying, rappelling, anchor building, and slacklining) are done with the deeper intended outcomes of giving campers lessons in respect, awareness, responsibility, and trust in oneself and others.
