A Message From Nicholas Manning
A chance to hike, an opportunity to grow. 26 miles in the San Bernardino Mountain Range over four days time. Time enough for discovery of beauty around while looking within. For both them and me.
W.A.L.L. Wilderness Adventures in Leadership and Learning. My fifth and final year of volunteering for UCLA UniCamp concludes with this wonderful program designed to impart leadership and life skills to high school students through a rewarding and difficult trek through nature. A trek, neither they nor I, can make without support.
In order to make this week a reality, I am fundraising with a goal of $1700.00. Any amount, small or large, directly contributes to aiding under served youth from the Greater Los Angeles area. It also encourages me to continually work towards that promise I set for myself.
From the pen of one of my favorite poets and fellow lover of all things nature:
"The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep."

In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
