A Message From Talia 'Snoops' Berson
As I start my fifth year of UCLA UniCamp, what I think of the most is gratitude. Gratitude for the hardworking volunteers and leaders who work so hard to put this program together. Gratitude for the campers who teach me new perspectives and new passions. And gratitude for the family I have back home supporting me. But not all children get the chance to grow up in a family that is free from loss and grief, and that's where we come in. To lose a loved one is a terrible thing, but at this session of UniCamp, we will be working with campers to understand and channel their grief into positive outcomes that enable growth. No child can be cured of grief, rather it is a lifelong experience, but they can lead a beautiful life through it and find happiness despite it. As they say, "it takes a village," well this year, it takes a UniCamp.
Please take the time to donate to a truly amazing cause a we fundraiser to subsidize each child's cost of camp to ensure their presence up the mountain. Every little bit helps.
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
