A Message From Sylvia Lopez

Hello Everyone! This summer I get to spend a week in the woods as one of 350 student volunteers. My session – The Village Nation, will work with Black youth to create a nourishing and fun-filled camp experience. During the week, campers will participate in activities like hiking, archery, and arts and crafts, to foster their leadership skills and individuality. Our goal is to reinforce our campers’ sense of empowerment so they may apply this outlook and knowledge unto other aspects of their lives. These great kids come from under-served communities and deserve to have a week of encouragement, friendship and all around fun. Please help my session and I give them the invaluable experiences all children deserve. Please help us build our Village Nation. My future campers and I thank you deeply for all your support❤️.

UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
