HELLO FAMILY AND FRIENDS! After the amazing experience I had last summer joining UniCamp for the first time, I am happy to say Gucci(me) is going up to camp again this summer, and I'm beyond excited!!!! Being apart of UniCamp was definitely the best decision I've made while at UCLA and has given me some of the greatest memories! For some who might not know, UniCamp is UCLA's official charity, which provides children from low-income families with the chance to attend a week long summer camp, up at Big Bear. This year, I am apart of UniCorps, which is an older camp program that encourages our teen campers to be leaders not only while at camp, but in their communities, once our week of camp is over. With a week long of service learning and leadership programs, campers strengthen their leadership skills, while building bonds with their fellow campers and advisors, and act as mentors to the younger campers. My session (July 15th-July 22nd) we will be working with teens from the Boys and Girls Club of Pasadena, and me along with my other advisors have a week of activities planned for our campers, but need your help. What makes Unicamp possible each year to help cover the cost of camp is fundraising. As a CORPS advisor, I have a goal to raise $1200 but I can't do it alone! And this is where I need your help. Whatever you can contribute, big or small, makes the difference for a teen who may not be able to go to camp on their own. Even if you are unable to make a donation, if you can let others know about this great cause, would also make a great difference to the campers!
