A Message From Brian Moreno-Alvarez
Hey hey! Listen up! My name is Brian "Grogu" Moreno-Alvarez, and I am excited to return to UniCamp this summer as a UniCorps Advisor for Session 5 (CAMP 5.T.A.R.). This is my second year participating in UniCamp and I've decided to come back and be apart of a family that has fostered my love and passion for community, advocacy, and equity across all families. As a UniCorps advisor, my role is aimed at supporting and providing campers (ages 13-17) with a summer camp experience that is focused on leadership and service learning. As a first-generation college student, finding ways to connect with others on campus was a bit difficult as there is a variety of services and resources that are complex to reach and I never imagined myself to have found a community where we are dedicated in shaping the future leaders of tomorrow. Every donation that is submitted will help our campers experience a week of camp that is magical and unforgettable, especially for those who come from underrepresented backgrounds. I would greatly appreciate all your support and I look forward to making this year at camp TRANSFORMATIVE!
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
