A Message From Salma El Difrawy
Hi everyone! I am glad that you made it to my UniCamp Fundraising page (: My name is Salma El Difrawy, but my UniCamp woodsies call me Almond. UCLA UniCamp, which was founded in 1934, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that sends 1200+ underserved and marginalized youth from Los Angeles to Summer Camp at an extremely reduced cost in order to help them envision brighter futures, develop a love for serving the community, and learn more about themselves in nature.
As a new camp counselor, I have spent the past several months training to be full prepared to facilitate an environment for the kids that allows them to grow and learn. With your help, the campers can experience camp without a financial burden.
Since UniCamp serves underserved communities in LA, we cannot go to camp without the help of your donations, which is why I am asking you to make a donation of any amount that you are comfortable with. With your donation, I will be able to raise enough money to help send more kids to camp and ensure the availability of funding that will go towards facilitating engaging and meaningful activities for the kids to participate in.
Thank you for stopping by! Together, let's make this upcoming summer an empowering memory for the underserved youth of Los Angeles!
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
