A Message From Richard Valdez
Welcome to my Giveffect page! My name is Airpod around here because I am currently a Woodsey at UniCamp! I'm sure you're wondering, "What's a Woodsey? What's Unicamp?" Well allow me to explain, a Woodsey is a title given to the camp counselors that will be leading a group of young children during a week-long summer camp in Camp River Glen. The name of this event is UniCamp, UCLA’s official philanthropy organization for students. UniCamp welcomes over a thousand children from under-served communities every year to participate in outdoor activities such as rock climbing, canoeing, and archery to sing a longs and playing engaging games with fellow campers. This year my session is titled MAGIC, and we will be training upwards of 100 hours to be prepared to lead the campers to have an amazing week up at camp. My session’s week of camp is from July 14th-22nd, and I would greatly appreciate any contribution you can make to support my campaign by then. All the donations will go towards supporting a great cause of subsidizing the costs and burdens of the families of the children wanting to go. Even if you cannot donate at the moment, thank you for taking the time to read this and considering. But if you can, just remember, it’s not for me, it’s for the kids! If you have any other questions feel free to reach out to me, I’d be happy to chat.
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
