A Message From Carolina Lechuga
Hey Everyone!
This is going to be my second year volunteering for Unicamp, an organization I once attended in high school. As a previous camper, I know how important and amazing this camp is and how much it benefits the campers! This camp is extremely special to me and my goal is to give other children the same experience I had over 6 years ago as a camper, that is the reason I chose UCLA and the reason I continue to volunteer. Unicamp is an amazing experience for all involved in getting the camp running. However, Unicamp is an overnight camp meaning the costs to go to camp are extremely high, making it difficult for many campers to afford. Therefore, we the counselors raise $450 each to help subsidize this cost and give an equal opportunity for all children to attend! The money goes towards meals, activities, transportation and technical stuff that keeps the camp running. I would be extremely grateful if you donated even a small amount, anything helps! UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
