A Message From Renee Broussard
Hi everyone! My name is Renee Broussard and this summer I will be volunteering at a summer camp through UCLA's UniCamp. UniCamp is a nonprofit that gives underserved children an opportunity to be apart of a fun, interactive summer camp when they otherwise wouldn't be able to! Although UniCamp is a non profit, we are able to provide a memorable experience through independent fundraising by volunteers just like me. The direct cost per camper is about $600 but because we raise money, the cost is able to be reduced by more than half, making it more affordable for children and their families. This is important to me because I believe every child should have the chance to get out of the house and join a fun community filled with exciting activities in which they are able to express themselves in many different ways! I want them to be able to have something fun to talk about when school is back in session and everyone is reminiscing on what they did over the summer. This program has been around for over 80 years and has changed so many lives in the short time of one week. So, thank you for your donation and for helping us provide an affordable, fun experience to children who deserve it!
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
