A Message From Michael Yang
What it do baby! My name is Michael Yang(Moose) and I’m coming to you on behalf of UCLA Unicamp as an ATL volunteer and counselor! UCLA Unicamp is the oldest and the one and only official student-run charity of UCLA that takes underserved children from communities of the Greater Los Angeles Area to the San Bernardino Mountains for a fun- filled week of camp and hopefully a place they can call home! My co-counselors and I will strive to create life-lasting memories as well as a cornerstone for these kids to create leadership qualities. Many of the children come from underserved and impoverished communities, and do not get to enjoy and experience the joy of a campfire sing-along in the woods or a cold dip in the serene lake. More often than not, these children have trouble affording the cost to attend camp.
For me personally, I am very passionate about camps and retreats for they defined my childhood and I can say with confidence that some of the best memories that I’ve had was up in nature with other fellow campers. Regardless of where, how, or why you came, it was a week of spending time with your friends, counselors, and most importantly yourself. As a college student, I was blessed with the opportunity to volunteer and experience this camp alongside UCLA Unicamp, and I want to ask you for your support. Whether it be $1, $5,$10, even $20 ( or whatever the amount may be), I’ll be able to continue to provide the children with a fun-filled week of camp! My goal for the next two week is to raise $200, but anything plus will be a blessing for me as well as other members of Unicamp. I truly want to share the same joy and laughter that I got to experience to the underserved children and create a memory of a lifetime! Thank you for your time, your donation, and for reading this message!
