A Message From Valerie Valdarrago and Drew Watson
Hello from Valerie Valdarrago and Drew Watson, we volunteer as a camp counselors at UCLA Unicamp. This year we will be a part of the Leadership Development and Life Skills session. Our mission is to empower youth to gain the confidence and leadership skills needed to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible individuals. We aim to develop leaders as they prepare for college or future career paths. By connecting with UCLA student volunteers, campers are provided with mentors who will encourage them to think about higher education. Activities will give campers a chance to practice self-awareness, interpersonal skills, and asking for help. Volunteers will engage campers and provide them with the motivation, experience, and safe environment necessary for them to grow into tomorrow's leaders. Learning leadership development and life skills will prepare campers for personal growth in future endeavors. Together, we want to ignite the potential of our campers and the community. Please help us fundraise to send future leaders to camp!
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
