A Message From The Village Session
The African proverb, "It takes a village to raise a child," is a guiding principle behind The Village Session, where campers celebrate African American heritage in a safe place that is asset-focused, affirming and appreciative. Village elders create an immersive environment for empowerment through strengthening confidence and character on a foundation of culture, community, and college. The Village Session provides access to resources for academic, social and cultural excellence while developing leaders to advance the legacy of social justice.
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
