A Message From UniCorps 2015 (Service Learning & Leadership)
UniCorps is an Older Camper Program (OCP) that encourages teens from the greater Los Angeles area to be leaders at camp and within their own communities. Using outcome-based programming and community service, campers develop and strengthen their leadership skills, while experiencing the value of giving back.
Through the program, campers create relationships with their mentors and in turn, have the opportunity to be role models and practice mentorship with younger campers. UniCorps campers return to the city with skills that benefit their personal and professional lives, and an understanding of the difference that they can make in their own communities. UniCorps campers can expect a combination of fun recreational camp activities such as hiking, swimming, and climbing, along with service opportunities such as meal set up, washing dishes, leading younger campers in activities, and facilitating workshops and talent shows! Because our campers dedicate much of their time and energy towards camp and younger campers, all Corps campers will receive 30 documented community service hours that can be used towards graduation requirements or scholarship applications.

In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
