A Message From Nathan Fernandez
Founded in 1934, UniCamp is UCLA's official charity and longest-running tradition. We are an independently funded non-profit organization made up of students, alumni, and past campers that are now volunteers. Unicamp links the university with the community, allowing students to serve as leaders who are dedicated to supporting kids from underserved backgrounds and giving them the joyous experience of camp!
Many of the kids that we bring up to camp have never experienced camp and have never been given such an opportunity. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from low-income families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 350 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer campsite, Camp River Glen, in the San Bernardino mountains.
I joined UniCamp to inspire kids to dream bigger and aspire greater. By spending a week of singing songs and playing games with them, I am able to change their lives and help in a deeper, more emotional way than a traditional fundraiser or food drive. To do this, we must raise the money to send the children to camp. Each child's fees cost about $500 and each session requires $100,000 to run, so any amount will help and is greatly appreciated! If you are unable to donate at this time, please share this page to spread awareness!
