A Message From Cody
Hey everyone!
As most of you may know, I went to Honduras last summer as part of Global Medical Brigades to provide health care and education to the underprivileged populations.
This summer, I'm participating in UCLA's official charity, Unicamp. Hundreds of UCLA volunteers will and have dedicated their time to send thousands of deserving kids to a week long summer camp. On top of raising funds to send these kids up to camp, we go through a hundred+ hours of training and spend a lot of time programming for the week of camp. These kids come from disadvantaged/low income backgrounds, so this week of camp can be a good experience for them. They will be learning many leadership, team building, and personal skills.
Each camp session has a different theme, and my session's theme in particular is Anti-Bullying. As someone who has been bullied in the past, this theme is very important to me. Kids can be mean without even knowing so. To stop bullying from occurring, we have to educate them on what is and is not right to say or do. Not only that, but they should also know what to do in the event that their friends or peers are being bullied.
In order to go up to camp, I need to raise a total of $480, which is the cost of sending a kid up to camp. I would greatly appreciate it if YOU could help me raise this money. I would be truly grateful for any amount donated. Thank you!
