A Message From Amanda Zapata
Hello friends and family! I am a freshman this year at UCLA. Prior to attending UCLA, I had the opportunity to attend UCLA UniCamp, through a program called Project Grad Los Angeles. I felt that combining both of these programs, has helped me grow and get to where I am at today. I knew that after my first summer of attending, I had to go back to camp and so I did. I am very happy that I can call Camp River Glen my second home. Where I can really be myself and grow more.
These past 3 years as a camper, I’ve learned a lot about myself and my vision of where I want to be. Now that I have been selected to be a counselor I have never been more excited in my life to finally continue my journey with UCLA Unicamp and make that transition from camper to counselor and better yet work with people from Project Grad Los Angeles from my hometown.
You may be asking yourself where will this money go? This would be my fundraising money to be able to go up to camp for a week and work with peers my age teaching them how to grow their leadership skills and better yet get them prepared for college!
Have an amazing day and if you have any questions don't hesitate to email me. Anything will help thank you Love you all!

UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
