Hey everyone!
It's Unicamp season again! Now is the time where I start fundraising for camp and I need everyone's support.
UCLA Unicamp is a nonprofit organization which provides inner city youth an opportunity to experience camp. UCLA students, such as myself, are trained throughout the entire spring quarter to be counselors for the kids, providing them with the an amazing camp experience. This year, my week of camp's theme is Life Skills and Leadership Development. Our session is partnering with Project Grad Los Angeles (PGLA) and Determined to Succeed Los Angeles to empower and provide high school students with the tools to excel as individuals and students in college and beyond.
Last year as a freshman, I joined Unicamp and it was honestly one of the most fufilling and life-changing experiences. A few days before we were supposed to go up to camp, I almost considered dropping. I am so thankful I did not and I became a counselor for Oldest Village Unit 14 last year. Once you get up to Camp River Glen, there is just so much Woodsey Magic in the air. It's an indescribable feeling. Up at camp, we sang songs, played games, and bonded as a session and as a unit. By the end of camp, my unit became a family that was inseparable. Throughout the entire week of camp, our unit truly bonded emotionally. After going up to camp and experiencing the Woodsey Magic, I was so thankful I did not drop Unicamp and I promised myself I would do camp next year and every year after.
Below is my GiveEffect donation page. I need to meet my $500 fundraising goal, and I need your help! Whether you donate $10, $5, or even $1, any amount helps! Every donation goes toward providing kids with the experience of camp and that Woodsey Magic.
Much Woodsey Love,
