A Message From Hubert Tran
Hi there folks! I've decided to go out on a limb and join UniCamp's CLIMB program to continue my love for this organization.
To those who do not know about UCLA UniCamp, we are a student run nonprofit organization that focuses on bringing children from underserved communities up to camp for an entire week. Here, the campers can do things like mountain biking, archery, alpine climbing, and more. All the while, UCLA students act as their counselors; planning social games and activities that help to emphasize important life lessons like teamwork, believing in yourself, and conflict resolution tactics. It is an opportunity for these campers to go above and beyond the immediate environments which may limit them, and grow from their experiences outside of their comfort zone.
And in supporting them through these hurdles, I find that I often learn many things about myself as well. It's this magical effect these kids have on you that keep me coming back every year.
But I will need support. This year, I pledge to fundraise $1,400 in order to help support the Older Camper Program CLIMB campers afford the gear, food, and lodging necessary to allow them this incredible opportunity.
I would humbly ask that you support my cause by donating whatever you can, and spreading this page to your friends and family. This program is so very near and dear to my heart it would mean the world to me.
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
