A Message From Jonathan Tang
As many of you know by now, I have been a volunteer with UniCamp for the past three years, and the kids that I have had the chance to work with have become such a huge part of my life. Now that I am entering my fourth year of camp, I have the distinct privilege and opportunity to volunteer as an Older Camper Program Advisor with WALL, as we embark on a 4-day, 3-night, 26-mile hike to summit Mount San Gorgonio, the tallest peak in Southern California.
UniCamp has been around since 1934 and strives to make genuine connections between UCLA student volunteers and the thousands of under-served youth around Los Angeles. It has become a program that I have come to love and cherish with all my heart. It is a place where I can be both a mentor and a kid all over again.
My fundraising goal for this year is $2,000. and every penny goes to sending one of the kids to camp. Thank you to each and every one of you for supporting me and helping me continue my passion for making a difference in these kids' lives.
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
