A Message From Kaitlin Amorde
For the past 80 years, UniCamp strives to make genuine connections between UCLA volunteers and the underserved youth of Los Angeles. We do this by raising over $280,000 in order to give kids a chance to experience a fun and empowering week at camp. Many of these children have never been outside of LA, let alone spent time in nature, and your donations will help to fund their week up at camp in the San Bernardino Mountains. This year, I am working with a program called Sailing Adventures Inspiring Leaders (SAIL for short). As a SAIL advisor, I will be teaching campers the math and physics involved in sailing (such as vectors and buoyancy), as well as the basics of how to sail. Campers will grow as leaders, build confidence, improve communication skills, and learn the importance of teamwork through the lessons learned both on and off the boats.

In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
