A Message From Cynthia Ocegueda
Hey everyone! My name is Cynthia Ocegueda, but you can call me Rex!
Last year, I volunteered as a camp counselor with UCLA UniCamp, a student-run nonprofit that gives underserved youth a once-in-a-lifetime outdoor experience. It was one of the most meaningful things I’ve ever done is seeing campers grow, open up, and discover their confidence was truly unforgettable.
This year, I’m stepping it up and joining UniCorps, UniCamp’s program for older campers. These programs focus on leadership, teamwork, and personal growth, giving teens a chance to challenge themselves and see what they’re capable of. As a UniCorps advisor, I’ll be taking on a bigger leadership role and attending extra trainings, fundraising a higher amount, and even helping plan an entire week of camp from scratch.
My goal is to raise $750 to help make this experience possible for the teens I’ll be working with. Every donation, big or small, goes directly toward helping them enjoy a summer full of learning, connection, and discovery.
If you’re able, please consider donating and supporting me in giving these campers a chance to dream big and grow into future leaders.
With much Woodsey love,
Rex 🦖

UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
