Hi everyone! My name is Mary, but at camp I go by “Onyx”! 🩵 I’m beyond excited to be returning to UniCamp for another season—this time as a Head Counselor! UniCamp is UCLA’s student-run, nonprofit organization that provides underserved youth with the opportunity to attend a life-changing week of camp at little to no cost to their families. Through mentorship, outdoor experiences, and meaningful connections, UniCamp creates a space where campers can build confidence, feel supported, and just be kids. As a Head Counselor, I help lead and support counselors, ensure camper safety and well-being, and work behind the scenes to make sure camp runs smoothly. This role means so much to me because I truly believe in UniCamp’s mission and the impact it has—not only on campers, but on the volunteers who serve them. To help make camp possible, I have a fundraising goal of $550. Every donation, no matter the size, goes directly toward transportation, meals, supplies, and ensuring that camp remains accessible to all campers regardless of financial background.
