A Message From Irvin Garcia
My camp name is River and this will be my 3rd year in Unicamp! This camp has given me so many great experiences, helping me break out of my shell and take leadership positions for the first times in my live. It is a privilege to be able to volunteer my own time, sweat, and hands for these kids no matter where they come from. We want any and every kid to be able to come up the mountain for a week and to learn how to have fun and be themselves. They take on new camp names they choose for themselves and learn to forget all the social, economic, and/or familial pressures of their homes, schools, and environment. We simply just want them to learn how to be kids again.I have dedicated so much of my own time to this camp so I ask of you to dedicate any amount you can to these kids in order to help lower the cost of camp by AT LEAST 50% for every kid and up to 100% off for those kids who need it the most due to their environments/situations.
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
