A Message From Matt Fernandez
Hi everyone! It's hard to believe that it's been ten years since I first volunteered for UCLA UniCamp. What started out as a something I joined on a whim has become an integral and formative part of my life.
To those of you unfamiliar with UniCamp, it's the official student charity of UCLA that provides summer camp experiences for underserved youth from LA county. We do things like archery, canoeing, campfires, hikes and more!
I say it every year, but as I hit the 10 year mark and as I approach 30, this looks like it could very well be the last time I volunteer for real (at least until our normal camp site of Camp River Glen is repaired). All the money that we fundraise goes directly into subsidizing the cost of camp for the families, many of whom qualify for free or reduced lunch programs at their schools.
If you are able to, I would appreciate any and all donations you can give. Donations are tax deductible as well, so it's a win-win for everyone!
Thank you for your time, consideration, and donations.
Much Woodsey Love,
Matt aka Ninja Woodsey
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
