A Message From Karen Navarro
I joined Unicamp to become a camp counselor because I find it to be a great opportunity to grow as a leader in my community. I truly believe that I can be the type of mentor who can inspire others to step out of their comfort zones and learn new skills and passions for themselves. Taking advantage of the natural environment, I look forward to reconnecting with nature and using this reconnection to allow others also to remember their place within it, showing them how special nature is and how revitalizing it can be in one's mental and physical health. As a camp counselor, I want to be able to teach my campers how to become true leaders of their own communities, motivating them to give back to those in need and teaching them how to work with other members for the greater good. Lastly, I am very excited to see what this season’s cohort has in store; while we will be having a lot of worthwhile fun, there will be ample opportunities for my campers to grow into competent individuals ready to overcome any obstacle that life may set on their paths later on.
