A Message From Jacob “Remy” Mora
Hey everyone! It’s that time of year again where I will be fundraising for UCLA UniCamp and I need your support! If this is your first time hearing about UniCamp let me give you the rundown of our organization. Essentially, we are a non-profit organization that works with underrepresented youth in Los Angeles and our goal is to provide a safe space where kids can experience the outdoors, develop lasting relationships, and grow as individuals during their time at camp.
Now, you may be thinking “this is great and all, but why should I donate to UCLA UniCamp?” Well you see, all donations made through fundraising will go towards sending a camper up the mountain to Camp Riverglen. This is critical as many campers come from a background of lower income families and they really need the support to make their experience possible. In addition, not only will you be funding a camper’s experience at camp, but you will also be giving the volunteers here at UCLA UniCamp the opportunity to grow as leaders and the opportunity to help us serve our communities. Last year was my second year at UniCamp and I can safely say that the organization has helped me grow as an individual. This year I am taking on a leadership role in the org, so if that doesn’t say much about how passionate I am about this organization, I don’t know what does. But all in all, UniCamp grants such a rewarding experience for both volunteers and campers. I seriously hope you consider donating and trust me, it will be worth it.
If you made it to the end of my spiel I thank you. I understand not everyone can donate and that is totally understandable, however if you were intrigued by this insight into UCLA UniCamp and you would like to find out more about our mission and what we’re all about, consider heading to our website or finding us on facebook or instagram (@uclaunicamp). Even just checking us out will make me very happy. Thank you :)

UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
