A Message From Ninja Woodsey

A Message From Matt Fernandez Hi everyone! Unfortunately, for my ninth and penultimate year of camp I'm wasn't able to make it for a full week, but thankfully I'm able to get at least one day up the mountain for Alumni Day! If you're new to my UniCamp journey, UniCamp is a non-profit organization that holds weeklong summer camps for underserved youth from Los Angeles county. I've been a volunteer since my freshman year of college back in 2013 (I even lead my own session back in 2018) and it had an immeasurable impact on my life. This is where you come in. In order to help kids get to camp, each volunteer has to fundraise to help subsidize the cost for their families. Alumni Day volunteers are expected to raise at least $89 each. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
