A Message From Jasmina Young
Hi everyone! My name is Jasmina "Juniper" Young and this will be my second year as a volunteer counselor with UniCamp! Every year, UniCamp sponsors hundreds of young students in the LA area to spend a week at a classic summer camp. UniCamp students come from underserved communities and may otherwise not have the opportunity to experience camp due to the steep costs involved. In the upcoming months, I will be training alongside my co-counselors to learn how to best serve these students and provide them with an unforgettable summer. This year, I will be training as a CLIMB counselor to support older campers (ages 16-18) in an overnight, outdoor rock climbing experience. As a CLIMB counselor, I am also working to raise $1400 to subsidize the costs of our campers' attendance. If you are able, please help me send a student to camp by donating! UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
