A Message From Miguel Meraz

Hello family, friends, and anyone else who may have stumbled on this page! My name is Miguel Meraz, and for most of the year I am an undegraduate student at UCLA double majoring in Political Science and Public Affairs. However over the summer, I am a volunteer with UCLA UniCamp as "Ponderosa" working with low-income youth from across Los Angeles County! UCLA UniCamp is the official philanthropy of the Students of UCLA, and I have been a volunteer with the organization since my first year in 2020! This year I have the absolute pleasure of serving as this year's Student Chair and help lead our highest level of volunteers from the recruitment stage all the way to camp itself! Along with being Student Chair, I am also an advisor in the CLIMB program. This stands for "Core Lessons in Mind and Body" where we work with campers ages 15-17 and teach them the basics of climbing with an emphasis on mind-body connection. In order to do so, we fundraise with the purpose of subsiding the cost of camp for campers and their families. Being a part of this organization has been monumental in my undergraduate career. Not only have I been able to meet like-minded students, but make last-friendships, countless memories, and amazing summers with our campers! Any amount at all helps (from $1 to $100!) and all will be directly benefiting low-income youth who otherwise might not have this opportunity! Thank you so much for reading, and for any contributions!
