A Message From Jessica Rivera
Hi everyone! My name is Jessica Rivera and I am a second-year student at UCLA. I am very passionate about working with children and hope to inspire them to be leaders of their communities. I am a member of UCLA Unicamp. This nonprofit organization is the official charity of the students of UCLA which been around for over 80 years. I am a part of summer Session 6 and Unicamp gives children from underserved communities a week of summer camp focusing on leadership, teamwork, and service-learning. More specifically, I am a part of CLIMB - an Older Camper Program and we teach campers how to climb, campers will exercise new skills in leadership, teamwork, and communication and they will also learn the basics of climbing the Alpine Tower. We train and serve as camp counselors to underserved youth in the LA area. The kids go to our camp - Camp River Glen - in the San Bernardino Mountains. However, since the kids are from low-income families, we must fundraise in order to subsidize the cost to make sure financial barriers do not prevent them from attending. Any amount you are willing to donate, no matter how small, can really help make the best summer for them. Thank you so much for your contribution and support, stay safe
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
