A Message From Lauryn Pinsak
UniCamp offers children the opportunity to immerse themselves in nature while also learning valuable life skills. Many of the children that attend UniCamp come from underprivileged communities and have not been given the opportunity to attend a summer camp. Not only have they not been given this privilege, they are almost never fully allowed to just be children and express themselves in their own way. This is where UniCamp is most beneficial. Taking them from their urban lives to explore nature allows the children to forget about their endeavors and express themselves as children. My previous years of camp have taught me so much and Im so grateful to be able to come back for another year and make even more of an impact! This year I will be working with the older campers in a more targeted program toward Mind and Body. Any contributions would be so much appreciated!
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
