A Message From Emaan Baqai

Hi all! Thank you so much for clicking on my page! This summer, I'll be volunteering as a camp counselor at Unicamp in the week of July 24 - July 31. As a counselor for Unicamp, I've committed to raising $500 to support the subsidization of the cost to attend camp for one camper from an underserved community in Los Angeles. I first volunteered for Unicamp in the summer of 2014, and besides what that one week of fun, responsibility and warm fuzzies did for me, it was the first time I really felt I, alongside the other 30-40 counselors around me, was doing something to support the community around me. Because I probably emptied your pockets two years ago by asking for donations, I've committed to donating half of each of my paychecks this quarter to my GiveEffect. Unfortunately, that's not going to cut it (ty @ daily bruin) so I would really appreciate any donation you could afford to spare to this cause! UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
