A Message From White Bat
Hello!
I am Jennie (aka White Bat) and I am very excited to be part of Unicamp! Growing up, I have always wanted to go to a summer camp like in the movies. It is a summer activity every child wants to experience.
Unfortunately, many children have to miss out on this summer camp experience for various reasons, including money. Many families cannot afford to send their children to summer camp. During uncertain times like COVID-19, children do not have the chance to go out and have that fun learning experience this summer.
UCLA Unicamp is the oldest and the only official student-run charity of UCLA that takes underserved children from communities of the Greater Los Angeles Area to the San Bernardino Mountains for a fun-filled week of camp! This year, camp is virtual to bring this summer learning experience to the children! Fundraising helps these children have this fun summer experience.
Donating money will help these children make the best of their summer! We will be able to create fun learning activities for these children to have fun and envision brighter futures during this time. I need to raise $450.00 in order to help subsidize the cost for the campers to experience this summer camp. If you can, please help by donating! Any amount will help, whether is it $20, $5, or even $1 (It can be tax deductible!). Sharing this information would also go a long way, so please share this page! Make this a memorable summer and help give a learning opportunity these children deserve.
Thank you in advance for your support and generosity,
Jennie (White Bat)
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
