A Message From Sisi Li
Last year, I decided to join Unicamp because I love working with kids and I appreciated the cause and mission of this organization. It was a great opportunity to give kids from underserved areas of LA a fun time up at camp, and I wanted to make an impact on these kids. What I didn’t realize was that I would learn as much from my campers as they did from me. Being a volunteer for Unicamp has been an incredibly rewarding and life changing experience- it was such an honor to be a counselor and lead my campers in games, songs, and outdoors activities. Throughout the week I was challenged in ways I was not expecting, but I am so thankful for the experiences and lessons I have gained from it. It’s amazing what you can learn in a week, and the bonds you can form with a group of people! Being told that you have made someone’s week an awesome and that they can’t wait to come back next year is something that I hold dear to me. They say that once you’re up at camp, you feel something called “Woodsey Magic”. They weren’t lying! Please consider donating so that we can help send more campers up the mountain, so that they too can feel this Woodsey Magic!
