A Message From Anita Chheang
Hello friends & familyyyy! I am part of an amazing organization Unicamp, and I need your help. UniCamp (UCLA’s official charity organization) sends thousands of under-served youth around Los Angeles to an empowering and strengthening week of camp. The organization strives to build a strong and enduring bond between UCLA student volunteers and our campers. This will be my first time volunteering, but I already know I will love and cherish this opportunity! I know this experience will help me develop in my professional career as a pediatrician, as I am truly passionate about working with children.
My session focuses on community building, youth empowerment, and social activism. I am extremely excited, because I am passionate about these very important topics. We are partnering with The Village Nation (TVN), an organization focused on helping African American students achieve both academically and holistically by providing a platform to take ownership of their identity and community. The campers will be able to bond with one another, recognize the leader within themselves and have an open dialogue about shaping our community and world.
My fundraising goal is $500, and it all goes to sending the kids to camp! I would truly appreciate it if you would like to donate! EVEN A DOLLAR WILL HELP! The donations are ~~TAX DEDUCTABLE~~. You may also receive some yummy homemade desserts. Thank you for supporting me and helping me continue my passion for creating an positive impact in these kids' lives.
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
