A Message From Errol Lopez
UniCamp is UCLA's official student charity and we help take underserved kids from Los Angeles that are from low income families to a week of camp for summer. This will be my first time camping and there is no better opportunity than being able to change people's lives and be part of an experience of a lifetime!
My camp session's initiative revolved around health, nutrition, and fitness. I personally chose this session because I am very passionate about helping these children to become healthier. We are partnering with the Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and their diabetes and obesity program to help fight and reduce both health problems. Hopefully, we can inspire these kids to live a healthier lifestyle through proper nutrition, exercise, and fun and eventually help reduce the rising trend of obesity among Americans.
Because UniCamp aims to help the low-income kids of Los Angeles, as a camp volunteer, I aim to raise 500 dollars out of 625 dollars, which is approximately the cost of sending one kid to camp. Any amount you are willing to donate would make a difference and support UniCamp's effort to make these kids' lives much better.
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
