A Message From Chelsea S
Hi y’all!
I am a volunteer for UCLA’s UniCamp, which is UCLA’s oldest and official student-run charity! Since 1934, UniCamp has given children unforgettable experiences outdoors and taught them various life skills from leadership development, academic achievement, and the importance of taking care of your health.
I am fundraising to take underserved children from communities in the Greater Los Angeles Area up for a week of camp at Camp River Glen in the San Bernardino Mountains. It costs $200 to bring a child to camp, which is why UniCamp volunteers help fundraise to subsidize the cost to $75!
My session is called Fitness, Health, and Nutrition. I am passionate about this session as it encompasses the significance of focusing on your mental health. As someone who has experienced mental health struggles, I want to teach the children various healthy coping skills such as mindfulness that they can use in their daily lives.
Please feel free to donate any amount as it will go to a great cause. Thank you for your time and generous contributions.
Let us “Sing Songs. Play Games. Change Lives.”
In Support of UCLA UniCamp
UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
