A Message From Tiffannie "Tea" Chang
Hi everyone! This summer, I'll be volunteering for Unicamp AGAIN (it's just that good) to give children from low-income families the opportunity to go to camp for one week at a low price, and this is all made possible from fundraising! All the money raised will fund for the children's stay at the camp. Any amount is appreciated, and it WILL mean the world to me and more importantly, to the campers.
What really attracted me to this organization is its mission. Children from low-income families are often restricted in terms of creativity by institutions, such as the school system, which teaches them in a way that sets them up to be followers, instead of leaders. At Unicamp, we teach children to build relationships, gain leadership skills, and unleash their creativity. Last year, I saw huge changes in the kids by the end of the week. They came in with not knowing what to expect and came out with knowledge about mental health and mindfulness, new friends, mentors, confidence, and life-long skills they can apply to other aspects of their life.
Please join me, 1000+ campers, and 400+ volunteers in this amazing cause! Thanks for reading :)

UCLA UniCamp is the official student charity of the University of California, Los Angeles. UniCamp operates as an independently funded non-profit organization linking the University with the community. Each year, UniCamp inspires nearly 1,000 children from underserved families to envision brighter futures by sending them, along with 400 student volunteers, to its residential outdoor summer camp.
